MOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LARGE SOLAR PANELS

4th May 2023

Are you looking to take advantage of the sun’s energy with large solar panels but don’t know the best way to mount them? Installing large solar panels can seem like a daunting task, especially when you are aiming to power your applications off the grid. But don’t worry, we’ve got some recommendations to help you get the job done safely and efficiently.

As we move further into a green energy future, solar energy is increasingly being used to power our off-grid needs. Whether it’s powering a tiny house or remote equipment, large solar panels are essential to the success of these off-grid operations. When installing a large solar panel system, it’s important to properly mount them to ensure optimal energy production.

What mounts do we recommend?

In terms of large panels, we’d say that our 360W 24V solar panels would surely fit in this category. Now in terms of mounting options, these solar panels are designed to be mounted to railing systems. Additionally, you can mount them using our Universal Z-Bracket mounts. We recommend using 1.5 sets of the UZ brackets per panel, which will come out to 6 brackets. This will keep everything secure and allow sufficient backspacing for cooling purposes. Finally, it’s important to note that when installing solar panels for off-grid use, you will also need to install batteries and/or an inverter to capture the solar energy generated and turn it into power you can use.

When done correctly, mounting your large solar panels for off-grid use can help you access the clean, sustainable power of the sun and reduce your carbon footprint. We hope this post gave you a better understanding of the mounting options available, and best of luck with your solar journey!
