GO SOLAR DURING NATURAL DISASTERS: RESPONSE AND RECOVERY

GO SOLAR DURING NATURAL DISASTERS: RESPONSE AND RECOVERY

1st Mar 2022

During a natural disaster, localized needs for temporary power can range from 100 Watts(W) to 100 Kilowatts(kW), which is also an advantage for replying solar. Portable solar systems are available in three types of configurations: suitcase, trailer, and container. Each has a role to play in virtually every disaster response and recovery scenario depending on how effectively it’s used.

The suitcase configuration is ideal for restoring communications by providing power for both user device charging stations and portable 3G/4G cells. These systems range in size from 50W to 200W, providing between 10 and 100-amp hours of battery storage. This higher capacity is very beneficial and can be used to power certain medical equipment, small medical clinics and even shelters.

If a trailer with a 5-kW solar array and 100-200 kWh of storage can be fully operational in less than 30 minutes, think of the possibilities that can be achieved using a portable solar system during a natural disaster.

Shipping containers are often used to transport equipment and emergency supplies during disaster relief efforts and can easily carry a complete solar storage power station. A 20-foot container, for example, could support up to 50 kW of power and 500 kWh of storage to accommodate larger clinics, shelters, and businesses, as well as small hotels, apartments, and water pumps or wells.

ABOUT NEWPOWA

As one of the leading international providers of off-grid solar solutions, Newpowa not only manufacturers its solar panels, applying the highest quality standards, but has a presence in more than dozens of the world’s most dynamic markets. Our purpose is to deliver clean, safe, and affordable solar energy to the world.

POST-DISASTER RECONSTRUCTION

When the main power grid is destroyed during a natural disaster such as floods and storms, the power supply to homes, businesses, and shelters is also interrupted. Some critical locations, such as hospitals, may also be at risk of power outages, leading to significant financial losses and the endangerment of our lives. To help solve the problem, Newpowa has created a solar power generation system that can be used jointly with solar panels and power storage, allowing you to produce, collect and store your own electricity.

-210W 12V MONOCRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANEL

The 210W 12V Monocrystalline High-Efficiency Solar Panel is commonly used in RV, marine, overlanding, traffic signals and various other off-grid applications. Invest in solar panels that are built to last and survive any weather condition. The 210W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel is built with a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame, anti-reflective, high transparency, low iron tempered glass with enhanced stiffness and impact resistance allowing it to withstand high winds, up to 2400 Pa, and snow loads of 5400 Pa. Its IP65 rated junction box provides complete protection against environmental particles and low-pressure water jets, making it the ideal choice for extended outdoor use.

During emergency situations, outdoor solar products can be in several indoor applications and scenarios, including shopping malls, medical facilities, buildings, enterprises, factories, and other public places, to reduce severe economic losses and casualties caused by natural disasters and accidents.

It’s important to have a plan and leverage energy efficiently. Go solar so you can power through any natural disaster.
