DEBUNKING SOLAR MYTHS: PART 2

28th Nov 2022

In part 2 of our Debunking Solar Myths series, we’ll dive into a couple more myths surrounding solar and disprove them one at a time. The first myth we will discuss is “Solar Panels are too Expensive.” The Second myth is “Only Homeowners can go Solar.” Then lastly, “Off-Grid Solar is only for Emergencies.”

Myth #1: Solar Panels are too Expensive

The cost of solar panels has been steadily decreasing because more and more people are switching to solar for their energy needs. The cost of your solar panels also comes down to what you plan on putting them on and what you’ll be using them for. However, this is all dependent on a multitude of factors. But for the sake of this article, solar panels in terms of pricing have been steadily lowering in price, which is great for you as a customer, whether you need it for your home setup or when you go off the grid.

Myth #2: Only Homeowners can go Solar

This is a great myth to disprove because most people associate solar with homes and nothing else. However, there is a whole different market for solar, and that’s for off-grid systems. These solar solutions are made to mount onto RVs, van conversions, tear-drop trailers, Overlanding vehicles, and much more. This niche market is picking up traction very fast and is gaining in popularity amongst those who enjoy the outdoors and living off the grid.

Myth #3: Off-Grid Solar is only for Emergencies

Solar is becoming one of the best ways to be prepared for emergencies when off the grid. But this is not the only reason why people come to us for off-grid solar solutions. Most consumers go solar for off-grid use because they want to live a self-sustainable lifestyle when traveling or living off the grid, all the while being eco-friendly and lowering their reliance on fossil fuels. You may still submit to the idea that off-grid solar is strictly for emergencies, and that’s ok. However, solar power is quickly becoming the go-to when doing anything off the grid.

In conclusion, there are many myths regarding solar and it’s important to research before you buy. We hope that we have been able to answer any questions that you may have had.
